For more than 30 years, High School students from NSCI have participated in the Jeffrey Lasky Memorial Arts Retreat. During this three day weekend we examine Torah through various artistic mediums. The retreat theme, centered around a specific Torah portion, might lead us to bring in guest artists or take preparatory field trips to museums. During the course of the weekend we engage in text study and often learn new techniques of artistic expression. The artistic fruits of the retreat are shared with the NSCI community during a subsequent Kabbalat Shabbat Service.
